TIGI Inspirational Youth 2014 Triumph at Salon International

The TIGI Inspirational Youth 2014 team made their stage debut at Salon International; the tenth year that TIGI has given its show over to the next generation of hairdressing talent.

In the decade that the mentoring programme has taken place, a few changes have been made to the scheme – including the launch of an international element for 2014, with teams for young hairdressers Germany and the USA launched in 2014 .

There’s also a new format to the programme, with the ten talented young hairdressers who make the grade now undertaking a training bootcamp. This intense six days of hairdressing education covers cutting, colouring, styling, presentation skills and session work – and left the team equipped with the skills for their very first shoot, which was featured in the September issue of HJ.

It was these skills that they called on once again for today’s presentation, as each of the ten talented TIGI protegees took to the stage to present their models. Inspirations were as diverse as the backgrounds of the hairdressers on stage, with finished looks taking their cue from the grungy 90s mood of Agyness Deyn’s style to the bohemian glamour of Stevie Nicks in the 1970s.
